Levels & Ranks

XP for chatting, custom rank cards, and roles that unlock as members level up.

How XP works

Every message earns a random amount of XP inside a range you set, but only once per cooldown window. The randomness stops levels being a pure message count, and the cooldown stops someone farming by spamming one-word messages.

Three numbers control the whole curve — minimum XP, maximum XP, and cooldown seconds. Raising the cooldown is the single most effective anti-farm change; widening the XP range mostly just adds noise.

Role rewards

Map a level to a role and Cyndrix grants it the moment someone reaches that level — that's your veteran ladder, or the gate on a members-only channel. Set them up on the dashboard Levels tab.

Two things worth knowing: Cyndrix's own role must sit above every reward role in the role list or Discord refuses the grant; and rewards are additive by default, so a member keeps earlier roles as they climb unless you remove them.

Setup

1. Dashboard → Levels → enable.
2. Set the XP range and cooldown. The defaults are sane; change the cooldown first if levelling feels too fast.
3. Choose an announcement channel and edit the level-up message template, or leave it silent.
4. Add ignored channels — bot-commands, spam and counting channels shouldn't pay XP.
5. Add role rewards. Check Cyndrix's role is above them all.

Members check themselves with /level and the server standings with /leaderboard. Resetting progress and reward roles is done on the dashboard.
