Reaction Roles
Self-serve roles from buttons or reactions โ colours, pings, pronouns, game tags.
What it does
A message with buttons that hand out roles. Members click to add a role and click again to remove it โ no staff involved. This is how you do colours, pronouns, game tags and opt-in ping roles without anyone filing a request.
Ping roles are the real win: if members opt into @announcements themselves, you can ping that role guilt-free, because everyone on it asked to be.
Normal vs unique
Each panel runs in one of two modes:
- Normal โ members can hold any number of the roles on the panel. Right for game tags, notification opt-ins and interests.
- Unique โ picking one removes the others on that panel. Right for anything mutually exclusive: a colour, a team, a region, a pronoun set where only one applies.
Split them across panels rather than forcing one mode: one unique colour panel plus one normal interests panel beats a single confusing panel.
Setup
- Dashboard โ Reaction Roles โ new panel.
- Set the title, description and colour, then pick the channel.
- Add each role with its button label, emoji and style (grey, blurple, green or red).
- Choose normal or unique, then publish.
As with level rewards, Cyndrix's role must sit above every role it hands out โ that's the cause of virtually every "the button does nothing" report.
